What:  This Six Flags theme park in New Orleans was shut down on 27h August 2005 in preparation (two days before) for Hurricane Katrina. Since that day never opened to the public, and still completely abandoned.

/// Loew's Kings Theater

What:  Loew’s Kings Theatre opened in 1929 and was designed by the architectural firm of Rapp and Rapp and decorated by Harold W. Rambush.  It was operated by the Loew’s Theaters chain, and it was one of the five “Loew’s Wonder Theaters” in the New York metropolitan area. Loew’s dropped the Kings in August 1977 due to low attendance and high maintance costs, as well as the decline of the surrounding neighborhood. It remains closed and abandoned since that year.

What:  North Wilkesboro Speedway is one of NASCAR's original tracks that pre-date NASCAR itself. The speedway opened in 1947 hosting races put on by local moonshiners, in 1949 North Wilkesboro, hosted the final race of the inaugural season, from that point on it hosted 2 races a year until it was closed in 1996, following the death of Enoch Staley owner of the speedway. Since the closure several groups have been working on reopening the speedway, but without any success.

What:  Disabled Subway Station Platform at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street. It opened as part of the Fulton Street Line in 1936. This station was featured in the 1988 Paul Hogan adventure comedy "Crocodile Dundee II". The station's mezzanine was the main setting for the filming of Michael Jackson's music video for his hit 1987 single, "Bad".
